Since 2004, Cocciardi and Associates, Inc. has been collaborating with HARIE to provide their clients the highest quality and most comprehensive loss control and injury/illness prevention services at various municipality and housing authority locations throughout Pennsylvania. Through the dedication of countless professionals, the relationship between Cocciardi and HARIE results in real impact to human lives by reducing exposures to hazardous situations and materials, and by mitigating risks at every stage of the operation. Services provided through this tenure include On-site Safety Evaluations which are performed to determine conformance with criteria/standards established by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), etc. The evaluation process includes interviews with pertinent personnel to discuss implemented safety programs and activities, including workplace safety committee establishment, modified work programs, hazardous communications compliance, bloodborne pathogen plans, electrical safety programs, etc. In addition to the interview process, a site inspection is conducted in all employee-occupied areas (excluding individual resident units for housing authorities). Cocciardi personnel assess potential safety issues including chemical/material storage, means of egress, electrical safety concerns, emergency equipment availability and maintenance, working surface issues (slips, trips and falls), etc. After the evaluation is completed, a comprehensive report is issued that documents site findings and recommendations to improve employee safety at their facility.
